5 Simple Ways to Hire a DJ

How to hire a DJ is the number one question asked for all events, such as weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, etc.

The old adage you get what you pay for is not always true.  This doesn’t mean you go with the cheapest.

What you want to do is establish a rapport and expectation of what you want for your event.

You have lots on your plate, so let’s keep this as direct as possible.

  1. Ask for references.  This is easier than looking at online reviews and star ratings which many have proven to be fake.  You get to speak to an actual person who can provide you their experience with the DJ.
  2. When speaking to the DJ or agent, get a feel they are there for you.  This is your special event, especially weddings, and you want to make sure they have your best interest at heart.
  3. During the initial conversation, you don’t need explicit details of the entire event. Get some idea of how the DJ will interact with your guests, his attitude, character, and knowledge.
  4. Ask lots of questions.  But understand you aren’t writing a novel.
  5. Enjoy the process.  Most DJs are there to provide you with excellent service and memorable event.

I know this skims the surface, but for 90% of events this will suffice.   Unless you are putting on a production there is no need to stress out over each detail.

Have a great event.
